Today on InTheMix with Rafia we have Allie, owner of Lash Club LA telling us all about the fabulousness of lash extensions. 

Allie has over 11 years of experience as an esthetician, lash and makeup artist.  She knew early on that her passion was making the women of the world feel beautiful.  Eyelash extensions are a beauty trend that has been around for a while but is just now getting some true exposure and steam. 

Eyelash extensions are used to enhance the length, curliness, fullness, and thickness of natural eyelashes. The extensions may be made from three types of materials; mink, silk and synthetic.  The lashes are applied one at a time using a specific type of semi-permanent glue and typically last around 3 weeks before needing a touch up. 

LASH EXTENSIONS MYTHS

Myth: you can have eyelash extensions as long and thick as you want.

Fact: The length and thickness of eyelash extensions should be based on what the natural eyelashes can healthfully support.

Myth: Eyelash extensions hurt

Fact: When applied correctly you should barely even feel eyelash extensions.

Myth: Anyone who has trained to do lashes is qualified to do them.

Fact: Training to do eyelash extensions is just the beginning. It takes extreme patience, practice, and dedication to perfection to be a master eyelash stylist.

Myth: You can’t wash your eyes with extensions on

Fact: Not only can you wash your eyes.  It is recommended to do so daily with an oil free cleanser, to keep your lashes line healthy and clean.

Myth: Eyelash extensions damage your natural eyelashes

Fact: When applied correctly one extension of proper length and volume to on single isolated natural eyelash they should not cause damage
